Nō Ngāti Raukawa ki Te Kaokaoroa o Patetere me Ngāti Mōtai a Ursula. "My mahi toi has always been my connection to my Māoritanga, and is the first reo I learnt to express my whakapapa. My pāpā is a tohunga whakairo and is my foremost inspiration. I am inspired by kōwhaiwhai, the ephemeral, fluid forms that speak to me of the spaces in between and the intersections. Pūrākau about mana wāhine and tangata takatāpui also inspire me and when I paint it is to represent and celebrate these Tūpuna, hei whakamoemiti ki a ratou, hei tākoha hoki ki ngā reanga ā mua."
