Description: A finely woven basket for seafood collecting. The Harakeke was grown, harvested and made in Ōtaki. Waitā, Matariki’s daughter, is connected to all the kai that are gathered from Tangaroa. Waitā has traveled with her mother and sisters to Papatūānuku to spend the month preparing her great grandmother for the new year. This kete celebrates the beauty, work and skills of Waitā who has set over the Western Horizon.
