Henare Tahuri

Henare is a carver, primarily known for his sculptural works. ‘Paratinia Whanaunga’ pays homage to the liberation and freedom of Palestine, recognising the interconnected relationships throughout the globe.

“Mai te Awa ki te Moana” is the Māori translation and partial recognition of “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free,” the full slogan that echoed throughout the global protest in demanding a ceasefire.
