Born and raised in Mexico, Karen Aguilar embarked on her beading journey in 2010 and honed her skills in 2013 under a talented silversmith in Guanajuato. Karen became fascinated by the physical and chemical reactions of semiprecious metal, and so her journey began in creating jewellery.
Since moving to Santa Fe in 2014, her studies continued in silversmithing, jewellery design, wax carving and enamelling at Santa Fe Community College.
In 2013, Karen transformed her passion into a thriving career, blending traditional techniques with modern creativity in her business, ‘Anka Jewellery Designs’. Karen sources stones from various places, incorporating natural elements into her designs.
