Born in 1967 in Wellington, Aotearoa, Sam Farquhar is of Scottish, English, and Ngāti Rāhiri descent. She currently resides on family land in rural Helensville, North of Auckland.
Sam graduated in textile design from Wellington’s Polytechnic School of Design in 1992 and has been printmaking and exhibiting ever since. Sam’s work is inspired by Aotearoa history and cultural narratives from her English, Scottish, and Māori ancestry.
