Born in Tauranga and residing in Palmerston North, Reweti Arapere is an artist and illustrator, with a Master's of Māori Visual Arts from Toioho ki Āpiti, Massey University. Reweti has exhibited extensively throughout Aotearoa and internationally. He also has an extensive portfolio of public artworks, commissions, and illustrations for publications.Reweti is a part of the first-generation Kōhanga Reo and Kura Kaupapa movement. Having been fully immersed in Te Ao Māori throughout his life, his works are grounded in his Māoritanga (Māori culture) and passion for street art.
