Mahinarangi composes each bespoke pattern with a sense of intention- crafted from high-quality Miyuki glass beads and comprised of varying stone and gem arrangements. Her vast range of earrings is carefully handmade, drawing inspiration from traditional tukutuku patterns, such as pātiki, which represents the flounder, a symbol of manaakitanga and abundance.
As a passionate protector of wildlife from our Taiao, in her ‘Nationally Critical’ series depicts rare animals such as the Tara Iti Manu (Fairy Tern), Aihi Māui (Dolphin), and Pekapeka (Long-tailed Bat), as a response to the dwindling number of our most protected native species.
A portion of each purchase is donated to help support the Endangered Species Foundation.
