Ia marama, ka tīpakohia e Toi Matarau he ‘whakataka ahurei.’ E mua kai kai, e muri kai hūare!

Whakataka Ahurei is a space for Toi Matarau to showcase limited and one-off taonga from the gallery.

Paengawhāwhā

Kua rewa a Paengawhāwhā ki te rangi, te whetū e tohu ana i te marama i waenga o te Ngahuru. He marama wera, he marama makariri. Tairoa tonu ai a Hineraumati. E tae tonu mai ana a Hinetakurua. Te tūtakitanga ā ngā hoa wahine o Tamanuiterā.

E whakanui ana a Toi Matarau i te ringatoi rongonui a Xoë Hall - Ngāi Tahu, Danish, Irish, English. Ka kitea ngā tūtakitanga ā ngā atua wāhine, te mana, te ihi me te wehi i roto i ngā pūrākau Māori.

April is a month of varying weather patterns, a collision of the Sun’s two wives Hineraumati and Hinetakurua.

Toi Matarau celebrates Xoë Hall; street artist, illustrator and painter based in the Wellington region, of Kāi Tahu, Danish, Irish and English descent. Xoë exhibits her work worldwide, on the streets and buildings of Aotearoa with her delightfully subversive murals. Her art acknowledges stories of the past through legends, idols and adventure creating her own unique hybrid sass which is Xoë Hall.
