Raven Bright (Navajo (Dīne), Dibētizhinī) is a multidisciplinary Indigenous contemporary artist from Gallup, New Mexico. Rooted in the Dibéłizhiní (Black Sheep Clan) of the Diné people, Raven brings over 15 years of experience in Breaking and Hip-Hop culture to his practice, creating deep connections to land, culture, and community through movement.
He is a dancer of Dancing Earth - a collective of Indigenous dancers under the leadership of Rulan Tangen. In 2023, Raven and his partner Allyssa Trujillo spent time here at Māoriland, hosting dance workshops with local tamariki.
Raven integrates dance, painting, and community organising to engage audiences and uplift Indigenous stories. Through his art, Raven continues to build spaces of cultural expression, healing, and intergenerational dialogue.
We have an exclusive selection of his original paintings strongly influenced by Hip-Hop, graffiti aesthetic - bursting with colour and symbolism.
