Description: Single Tāniko Poi, Poi Karakia (ceremonial Poi)
Mātakitaki means to gaze or to dream. This poi contains three stars that symbolise the past, present, and future.
As the poi swings, it travels through time, reminding us that our dreams are living and our stars are always watching.
The first star honours the past—our tūpuna, the hands that taught us, and the stories that shaped us.
The second star grounds us in the present—where we weave, heal, and plant seeds of purpose.
The third star looks to the future—our dreams and aspirations carried by Hiwa-i-te-Rangi.
Materials: Muka Harakeke, Linen (offcuts from Rāpaki named Whakapapa)
