Tivaivai Vare’au – Drawing

Chani Areaiiti is an artist of Māori and Kuki Airani Māori descent, bridging ancestral wisdom and contemporary design through her practice. Chani transforms Pasifika storytelling into vibrant and elegant art through her dual practice as a visual artist and tattooist. Each piece she creates is a modern taonga - rich in cultural significance, fine in detail, and deeply personal, often representing her journey of cultural reconnection. Her artworks honour her whakapapa while embracing contemporary aesthetics.
