Tekoteko sculpture of Urutengangana – The Gleaming One, god of Light. Urutengangana is a son of Papatūanuku and Ranginui, known as ‘the gleaming one’ a personification of light. In the story of how light came into our world, he gifted some of his light to his children so they could light up the night sky and adorn the cloak of his father Ranginui. His children became Te Whānau Mārama also known as Te Whānau Ariki.
